(WNY News Now) – The National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo NY has issued a High Wind Watch from January 7 at 10:15 AM EST until January 10 at 4:00 AM EST, warning of potential southeast winds ranging from 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

Residents of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties are urged to stay vigilant as damaging winds pose a threat. The NWS anticipates potential tree and power line damage, with widespread power outages and challenging travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles. The advisory spans from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night. The public is advised to monitor updated forecasts and warnings, securing loose objects or sheltering items ahead of the expected high winds.
