(WNY News Now) – Mayville, NY – A 34-year-old resident of Mayville, NY, was arrested on January 7, 2024, following an investigation by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies into a larceny at a local business on Lakeview Ave.

Allegedly stealing property from the business, James D. Mawhir, 34, is facing charges of petit larceny. The incident took place in the Village of Mayville, leading to his arrest on the same day. Mawhir is scheduled to appear in the Town of Chautauqua court at a later date.
