(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo, NY, has issued a Lakeshore Flood Watch from January 11 at 3:43 AM EST until January 14 at 4:00 AM EST for Erie and Chautauqua counties, warning of potential significant lakeshore flooding along Lake Erie’s eastern end.
The NWS cautions residents about the possibility of lakeshore flooding impacting areas like Route 5 in Hamburg, Buffalo Harbor, Canalside, Dunkirk Harbor, and other flood-prone locations. The forecasted rapid rise in water levels and very high wave action may lead to shoreline erosion.
