(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) announces the successful completion of cleanup efforts addressing contamination at the Weber-Knapp Company site in Jamestown, Chautauqua County, under the state’s Brownfield Cleanup Program. 

The NYSDEC has confirmed that the cleanup requirements for the Weber-Knapp Company site at 441 Chandler Street have been met. The cleanup, overseen by the Weber-Knapp Company with NYSDEC supervision, has resulted in the approval of a Final Engineering Report (FER) and the issuance of a Certificate of Completion (COC) for the location. All relevant project documents, including the FER and COC, can be accessed online via the DECinfo Locator at https://www.dec.ny.gov/data/DecDocs/C907048/ or in person at the designated location under “Where to Find Information.” This certification marks a significant step in the environmental rehabilitation of the Chandler Street site.
