(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – United Way of Southern Chautauqua County received a gift of $8,602 from Jamestown Macadam Inc and its employees recently.
2023 Campaign Co-Chair Rex McCray visited JMI’s Falconer site to receive the check from JMI VP Aaron Olson. United Way’s 2023 Fundraising Campaign will soon come to a close. On Monday, UWSCC staff will tally the 2023 Campaign pledges and donations to determine whether the fundraising goal of $1.4 million was met.
Last year, your local United Way set $1.31 million as its 2022 Fundraising Campaign goal — and ended up surpassing that goal thanks to the generosity of the community. When all was said and done, the campaign came in at $1.4 million raised.
100% of the money raised by United Way each year stays local in the community and goes to fund programs and services which many county residents rely upon. In total, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County funds 42 programs administered by 29 agencies.
“We’re so thankful for all the businesses and their employees who have chosen to donate this year,” said United Way of Southern Chautauqua County Executive Director Amy Rohler. “It’s amazing to watch throughout the campaign as the pledges come in, and now after kicking off in September we get to find out if we reached our goal at our Campaign Celebration on Tuesday, Jan 23rd.”
Rohler added, “Thanks to all of you, we’re 99.3% of the way to our 2023 fundraising goal of $1.4 million dollars… and we’re not done yet! There are still a few days left to give.
More than 150 employers participate in United Way’s annual fundraising campaign by allowing their employees to give through a payroll deduction. To reach $1.4 million, United Way relies on the generosity of employees giving through their paycheck, corporate gifts, donations from individuals, planned legacy giving and the support of small businesses.
“It’s an efficient and convenient way to make a charitable gift,” Rohler said. “One donation impacts thousands of children, seniors and families in our community.”
There’s still time to contribute and help make United Way’s 2023 Fundraising Campaign a success. Text “BetterUnited” to 91999.
