(WNY News Now) – Belmont, NY — Seven villages in Allegany County elect new members to their governmental boards in March. This year, these elections will take place on Tues., March 19th . Six of the seven hold caucuses – brief nominating meetings – to put forward the names of their chosen candidates. The seventh has a different procedure.

Caucuses work because village voters convene to put forward, discuss, and nominate candidates together. The schedule of Democratic caucuses is as follows:

Village of Alfred Tue., Jan 23 rd 6:30 p.m. Village Hall

Village of Belmont Fri., Jan 29 th 6:30 p.m. Village Hall

Village of Bolivar Thu., Jan 25 th 6:30 p.m. Town Hall

Village of Canaseraga Tue., Jan 23 rd 6:00 p.m. Village Fire Hall

Village of Cuba Wed., Jan 24 th 6:45 p.m. Cuba Municipal Bldg.
