(WNY News Now) – Two Jamestown residents were arrested on 01/29/2024 after a traffic stop by Jamestown Police revealed the driver to be under the influence of drugs. Methamphetamine was discovered in the vehicle, leading to charges against both individuals.

On 01/29/2024, around 5:07 PM, Jamestown Police Dept. 2nd Platoon officers conducted a routine traffic stop on the Northside. Investigation revealed Andrew J. Cooley, the driver, was operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs. A quantity of methamphetamine was found in the possession of the passenger, Karen M. Danson.

Both Cooley and Danson were taken into custody without incident. Cooley faces charges including Driving While Ability Impaired-Drugs, Fail to Signal 100 Feet, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. Danson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. Cooley is held pending arraignment, while Danson was released with an appearance ticket.
