(WNY News Now) – A 27-year-old Jamestown man was apprehended on Feb. 20, 2024 during a GIVE Domestic Violence Detail, facing multiple charges related to domestic violence and contempt of court.
In a targeted operation on the South Side, officers from the Jamestown City Court arrested James A. Carter as part of the GIVE Domestic Violence Detail on Feb. 20, 2024 at 7:38 p.m. The 27-year-old was sought on numerous felony domestic violence warrants.
Upon approaching a south side address, officers observed Carter attempting to flee but re-entered the residence. Complicating matters, there was an existing Order of Protection requiring Carter to stay away from the female victim present at the location. After establishing contact, officers discovered Carter still inside with the victim. Following a peaceful resolution, Carter was taken into custody without further incident.
The charges against Carter include Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Assault in the Third Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. He was held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court.
