(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY -A 47-year-old Buffalo resident, is facing serious charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Reckless Endangerment, following a road rage incident on Beechview Ave. and Clyde Ave. in Jamestown on Feb. 22, 2024 at 10:14 AM.
On February 22, 2024, at approximately 10:14 AM, Jamestown Police responded to a shooting incident at Beechview Ave. and Clyde Ave. The investigation revealed that Javier Baez, enraged for an unknown reason, chased a victim and their two passengers in a vehicle along Falconer St. Baez, operating his own vehicle, confronted the victims at Beechview Ave. and Clyde Ave., where he fired at least six rounds at their vehicle, striking it multiple times. Remarkably, none of the occupants sustained injuries.
Following a day-long effort by Patrol officers and Detectives, Baez was located at a residence on Bush Street in Jamestown and was apprehended without incident. A subsequent search of the residence uncovered a loaded 9mm pistol with a large capacity feeding device.
Javier Baez, now held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court, faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and three counts of Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree. The firearm, believed to be the weapon used in the incident, was seized during the arrest.
Baez is currently in custody at the Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.
