(WNY News Now) – Ellicott Police defused a tense situation on Feb. 28, 2024 at 8:05 AM, responding to a report of a 50-year-old man allegedly brandishing a knife in the Budget Inn parking lot after a verbal dispute. The suspect was promptly located, and upon investigation, it was revealed that he had drawn a knife. 

Ellicott Police intervened in a potentially dangerous situation on Wednesday morning when they responded to a call regarding a person wielding a knife in the Budget Inn parking lot. The incident, involving 50-year-old Luis D Lugo, unfolded at 8:05 AM and allegedly stemmed from a verbal argument with another individual.

Upon arrival, law enforcement located Lugo and confirmed that he had indeed brandished a knife during the dispute. Following standard procedures, Lugo was safely transported to EPD for processing. Notably, he was released with an appearance ticket
