(WNY News Now) – In a pre-dawn operation on March 6, 2024, Jamestown police arrested a 40-year-old Jamestown man at 7-Eleven on Hazeltine Ave, unveiling alleged criminal possession of a weapon and controlled substances.

At 4:02 am, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd platoon apprehended Perez, acting on active bench warrants from Jamestown City Court. Perez was taken into custody without resistance. A subsequent search allegedly uncovered a switchblade knife, deemed illegal in New York State, and quantities of Methamphetamine and Cocaine on his person.

In light of a prior conviction in New York, Perez faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (a felony) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. He is being held pending arraignment.

  1. Whoever does the reporting for this page has got to be about ignorant. Why would you post a story and only list the person’s last name. Totally incompetent reporting if you ask me and they need to go back to “Reporting School” to learn how to publish stories. This is very irritating to the readers.
