(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A routine traffic stop on W. 6th Street and Washington Street on March 5, 2024, at 12:32 pm resulted in the apprehension of four individuals, each facing charges related to drug and weapon possession.

On March 5, 2024, at 12:32 pm, officers from the 1st platoon initiated a traffic stop in the vicinity of W. 6th Street and Washington Street after observing a vehicle commit an alleged traffic infraction. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of four individuals, Jamie Allen (42yof), Kylene Hellriegel (39yof), Melissa Edington (35yof), and John Newark (40yom), all hailing from various locations in New York.

The search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs and weapons. Jamie Allen, the driver, was found in possession of 31.5 grams of methamphetamine, 5.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, and suboxone. Passenger Kylene Hellreigel possessed 27 grams of methamphetamine, 5.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, suboxone, and an unlawfully owned rifle due to a prior felony conviction. Melissa Edington, another passenger, had 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, 5.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, suboxone, and a stun gun. John Newark, the final passenger, carried 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, 5.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, suboxone, and an unlawfully owned rifle.

Charges include Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. The four individuals are currently held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court.
