(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – Don’t know how to paint? Have you always wanted to give it a try?

Come to Audubon Community Nature Center (ACNC) for the first of two spring Nature Paint Nights on Wednesday, March 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Beginning to advanced artists are welcome at this fun and creative evening, when you will be provided with everything you need to create your own nature-inspired masterpiece. (If you can’t make it then, there is another session on Thursday, April 25.)

Emily Rechin will provide step-by-step instructions as well as information on the nature subject to be painted.

Rechin went to Alfred University, where she entered as an art major before switching to biology. In addition to being a snowboard instructor, legal assistant, and owner of her own pet-sitting business, Rechin is a former Audubon educator.

Bring your friends, bring some snacks, and get your paint on at ACNC. Audubon will provide coffee and tea.

Be sure to wear clothes you won’t mind getting paint on.

Cost for the class is $28 or $21 for Nature Center members and children ages 9-15. All materials are supplied.

Enrollment is limited. Reservations are required by Sunday, March 17, and can be made by calling (716) 569-2345 during business hours or online through “Programs and Events” at AudubonCNC.org.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. You can visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.

The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, the 2023 Nature Photography Contest winners, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 – 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily.
