(WNY News Now) – Salamanca, NY – A 39-tear-old Wayne, NJ, man was apprehended for allegedly driving under the influence after a routine traffic stop on Old Route 17 in the Town of Salamanca.

Nicholas Blewitt’s arrest unfolded when deputies conducted a traffic stop, noting alleged signs of intoxication and open containers in his vehicle. The charges against Blewitt include Driving While Intoxicated, Failure to Signal within 100 feet, and Refusal to take a Breath Test. The incident took place on Old Route 17 in Salamanca, prompting Blewitt’s appearance in the Town of Salamanca Court.

Currently released on recognizance, Blewitt is slated for further legal proceedings.
