(WNY News Now) –  Jamestown, NY – On the evening of March 7, 2024, at 6:50 pm, a routine traffic stop near the intersection of Winsor St/Crescent St resulted in the apprehension of  a 40-year-old resident of Ithaca, NY, wanted as a fugitive from justice in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania.

Jamestown Police officers, engaged in a traffic enforcement detail, flagged down a van for an alleged equipment violation in the Dollar General parking lot at 226 Winsor St. Upon identifying the driver as Joseph J Lane, officers discovered an outstanding warrant from Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, confirmed by the PSP of Laporte. Lane, extraditable through surrounding states, was taken into custody without incident and is currently held at Jamestown City Jail. He awaits arraignment on the charge of Fugitive From Justice in Jamestown City Court.
