(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 26 year-old Jamestown resident faces multiple charges including assault, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest following an altercation at a West Side business on April 6, 2024.

On April 6, 2024, at approximately 9:49 PM, Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd platoon responded to reports of an assault at a West Side business. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with severe injuries including broken teeth and lip wounds allegedly inflicted by Nyan J. Maxwell, 26. The victim required medical treatment, and their prescription glasses were damaged during the incident. Maxwell allegedly attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief chase. He now awaits arraignment at Jamestown City Court on charges of assault in the 2nd degree, criminal mischief in the 3rd degree, and resisting arrest. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
