(WNY News Now) – Syracuse, NY – A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest in an incident on Wednesday, April 17th, prompting a police investigation in Syracuse.

Syracuse Police Officers rushed to Crouse Hospital following reports of a shooting with injuries around 3:33 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned that a 33-year-old male had been brought to the hospital by private vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim’s condition remains critical. The incident is believed to have occurred in the 100 block of W. Kennedy Avenue.

The Syracuse Police Department has initiated an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
