(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 63-year-old male, faces charges of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after a roll-over motor vehicle accident on April 22, 2024 at 5:20 pm along Foote Ave/Arterial, where officers discovered him intoxicated behind the wheel of a Jeep, according to authorities.
Authorities responded to a report of a roll-over motor vehicle accident on April 22, 2024 at around 5:20 pm in the vicinity of Foote Ave/Arterial. Upon arrival, officers found a Jeep overturned on its driver’s side on the west side of the roadway. Jamestown Fire Department assisted in extracting the driver, identified as Joel R. Breen, who fortunately sustained no injuries and declined medical treatment.
However, officers allegedly detected signs of intoxication in Joel and proceeded to conduct standardized field sobriety tests. Following their investigation, officers determined that Joel had allegedly been operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, leading to his arrest for DWI. Without any issues, officers transported Joel to the city jail.
A subsequent breath test revealed Joel’s Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) to be .19%, well above the legal limit. Consequently, Joel faces charges of DWI and AGG. DWI-BAC .18% or higher. He was released with appearance tickets pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
