Sean L. Thomas, a 26-year-old Jamestown resident, faces serious charges following an incident involving an 8-month-old child in which he allegedly strangled the infant, resulting in critical injuries.

On April 22, 2024, emergency services responded to a distress call at a North Side address where they found an 8-month-old infant in critical condition. Initial investigations suggest that Sean L. Thomas inflicted severe injuries on the child, including strangulation, leading to life-threatening conditions. The Jamestown Police Department swiftly took Thomas into custody, charging him with Strangulation 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The infant was rushed to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for urgent medical care and later transferred to a specialized facility for further treatment. Thomas is currently held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court, with additional charges expected as the investigation progresses. The authorities are collaborating closely with the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office to ensure a thorough investigation.
