Responding promptly, JFD arrived at the scene at 04:58 to find the rear of the building fully engulfed in flames. The initial report indicated heavy fire on the first and second floors.

Upon arrival, Car 1, accompanied by Engine 4 and Ladder 1, immediately assessed the situation. Recognizing the intensity of the fire, Car 1 directed all crews to engage in an exterior attack, refraining from entering the building due to hazardous conditions.
