A structure fire at 234 Fulton Street on May 19, 2024, resulted in significant damage and one burn victim, who was transported to UPMC Chautauqua.
At 7:38 AM, a fire alarm alerted the Jamestown Fire Department to a blaze at a residential home on 234 Fulton Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire on the first and second floors of the 2.5-story structure. Initial efforts included deploying handlines for an interior attack and establishing a water supply from a nearby hydrant. The bulk of the fire was controlled within 30 minutes.
One burn victim was found at a neighboring home and was treated and transported by Alstar EMS. The operation involved multiple agencies, including the Jamestown Police Department, Chautauqua County EMS, and the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation, with two fire investigators requested on-site. Offshift personnel were called in for additional support.
