(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – Celebrating Jamestown Pride 2024, the downtown and other venues will be alive with events from early Saturday, June 8 till past noon Sunday, June 9.

Whether your pleasure is 8 a.m. Saturday yoga with Ample Movement Studios at the Winter Garden Plaza (313 N. Main St.) or burlesque and dancing till 1 a.m. at Sneakers, you’re sure to have some fun. 

The opening day of the Jamestown Public Market has Pride-themed vendors, activities, community organizations, and educational resources along Main Street, between Third and Fourth streets, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Entertainment at the Winter Garden Plaza includes a community drum circle at 10 a.m., live music with Leo Wolters Tejera at 11 a.m., and a local variety show starting at noon. 

Community members are invited to wear their Pride finest and to participate in Jamestown Pride’s first Rainbow Walk. Walkers will gather at the Winter Garden Plaza at 1 p.m. and depart for a community Pride walk through downtown. Local drag performer, Lips Poppin’, will emcee the Rainbow Walk and will perform at the Winter Garden Plaza following.

This year’s headliners feature nationally known drag performers Thee Suburbia and Ella Fartzgerald performing at the Winter Garden Plaza 2-4 p.m. In 2022, Thee Suburbia was so popular – especially with the kids – that they are returning from New York City. Community members will be able to interact with Thee Suburbia and Ella Fartzgerald after the performance at a Meet and Greet at Knights of Enchanted Dreams (104 W. Second St.), starting at 4:30 p.m.

Evening entertainment includes drag (5 p.m. at Brazil, 10 E. Fourth St.; 7 p.m. at Knights of Enchanted Dreams, 104 W. Second St.;  and 10 p.m. at The Fish in Bemus Point), burlesque (Pop-A-Pastie Productions from 8-10 p.m. at Sneakers, 100 Harrison St., Jamestown) and dancing (DJ Bad Weekend, 10 p.m.-1 a.m. at Sneakers). 

Sunday morning, June 9, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (410 N. Main St.) and First Presbyterian Church (509 Prendergast Ave.) have Pride services at 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., respectively. 

Jamestown Pride will conclude with a drag brunch fundraiser with Thee Suburbia and Ella Fartzgerald at Rose & Grace Studios (316 Cherry St., Suite 105). These talented drag queens will be serving up sass and style while you enjoy a scrumptious brunch. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the present and future activities of Jamestown Pride.
