Jamestown, NY — A Southside resident faces felony charges following a false emergency call that brought fire and rescue teams to her home on June 1st.
On June 1, 2024, at approximately 1:21 PM, Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon responded to a distress call reporting a chair on fire inside a Southside residence. The Jamestown Fire Department (JFD) also rushed to the scene to handle the reported blaze. However, upon arrival, JFD found no fire or evidence of any extinguished flames.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the emergency call, made by Heidi S. Waite-Coone, a 43-year-old female, was unfounded. Authorities determined that there was no legitimate emergency. Misusing emergency services, Waite-Coone’s call led to unnecessary deployment of resources and personnel.
Waite-Coone was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail. She was subsequently released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court on charges of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 2nd Degree, a Class E Felony.
