On the night of June 3rd, 2024, at approximately 10:06 PM, Joseph P. Dempsey, 44, of Olean, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Four Mile Road in the Town of Allegany. Dempsey was found to be driving while his ability was impaired by the use of drugs.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office conducted the traffic stop and subsequent investigation that led to Dempsey’s arrest. Following the stop, Dempsey was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and a Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE).

Joseph P. Dempsey was charged with multiple offenses, including Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Operating Without Insurance, Speeding, and Inadequate Muffler.

Dempsey was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Allegany Court at a later date for further proceedings. Judge Porter is expected to oversee the case.
