A Routine Drive Turns Deadly Near Exit 19
On Tuesday, June 4th, at approximately 4:25 p.m., a fatal accident occurred on I-81 Southbound near exit 19. Syracuse Police Officers responded to a distress call reporting a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from severe injuries inflicted by a vehicle.
The injured man was quickly transported to Upstate University Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him deceased. The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the authorities. Preliminary investigations suggest that impairment was not a contributing factor in the collision.
