On Wednesday, June 5th, at approximately 2:26 p.m., a tragic incident occurred near Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse, when an adult male was struck and killed by a train on the 900 block of Comstock Avenue. Syracuse Police Officers promptly responded to the distress call and discovered the man suffering from severe traumatic injuries. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin. The circumstances leading up to the accident remain unclear, prompting an active and ongoing investigation by the Syracuse Police Department.
