A late-night traffic stop on Route 60 results in multiple charges for a Niagara Falls resident.
On the evening of June 7th, 2024, at approximately 9:58 PM, deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a routine traffic stop on Route 60 in the Town of Charlotte, NY. The vehicle, driven by Michael T. Hicks, 50, of Niagara Falls, NY, was pulled over for speeding in excess of 55 MPH.
During the stop, deputies discovered that Hicks was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .18% or more, leading to charges of Aggravated DWI. Hicks was also charged with DWI, DWI Per Se, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
After his arrest, Hicks was issued tickets and released. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Charlotte Court at a later date.
