Early Sunday morning, Syracuse police responded to a shooting on First North Street, leaving one man injured and prompting an ongoing investigation.

On June 9th, 2024, at approximately 6:02 AM, Syracuse Police Officers were alerted by a ShotSpotter activation to multiple rounds of gunfire in the 600 block of Turtle Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 32-year-old male with a graze wound to the chest. The victim was promptly transported to University Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of First North Street. Details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. The Syracuse Police Department is actively working to gather more information and urges anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
