Judge Sally A. Jaroszynski has announced her candidacy for the Chautauqua County Family Court Judge position.
Judge Sally A. Jaroszynski, a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County and an experienced family law practitioner, has officially announced her candidacy for the Chautauqua County Family Court Judge position, set to be vacated by Judge Jeffrey A. Piazza at the end of the year. Jaroszynski, a registered Republican, is seeking the endorsement of the Conservative Party, which will hold a primary election on June 25, 2024. Demonstrating a broad appeal, she has also secured the endorsement of the Chautauqua County Democratic Committee and will appear on the Working Families Party line.
With over 30 years of experience practicing law in Chautauqua County Family Court, Judge Jaroszynski emphasizes that the welfare of families transcends partisan considerations. She has served as the Ellicott Town Justice for 15 years and lives in the Village of Falconer with her husband, retired police officer James Jaroszynski. They have two accomplished daughters, Hannah and Kathryn, who are pursuing careers in mental health counseling and biomedical engineering, respectively.
Judge Jaroszynski’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and a Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University. Her career is marked by extensive service to families, representing a diverse clientele including victims of domestic violence. Her non-partisan commitment to justice is a cornerstone of her campaign.
In her role as Ellicott Town Justice, Jaroszynski has managed one of the county’s busiest courts with efficiency and fairness. Her extensive legal career includes roles as Legal Director/Attorney for Legal Aid of Chautauqua Region and work with the Chautauqua County Public Defender’s Office. Recognized for her pro bono work and dedication to victims of domestic violence, she has received accolades from former U.S. Representative Tom Reed and the New York State “Access to Justice” program.
Active in community service, Judge Jaroszynski is a member of the Jamestown Bar Association, New York State Magistrates Association, and has served on various committees and boards, including the Chautauqua County Child Advocacy Program. She is also a devout member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, where she has been involved in teaching and lecturing.
