Syracuse Grapples with Violent Night, Community Urged to Aid Investigation
In the early hours of Sunday, June 16, 2024, Syracuse Police responded to a distressing scene on the 4100 block of South Salina Street. At approximately 2:26 AM, officers arrived at Valley Plaza following reports of gunfire. They discovered a 30-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate transport to University Hospital, he was tragically pronounced dead.
Shortly thereafter, a second victim, a 34-year-old man, sought medical attention at Crouse Hospital for injuries sustained from gunfire. Fortunately, he is in stable condition and expected to recover from his non-life-threatening injuries.
The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating this incident and urges anyone with information to come forward. Community cooperation is crucial in resolving this case and ensuring justice for the victims.
