Dennison Road Collision Results in Fatality

Silver Creek, NY – June 21, 2024: In the early hours of June 21, a tragic accident occurred on Dennison Road in Silver Creek, claiming the life of a Jamestown resident.

At approximately 6:47 AM, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, along with Silver Creek Fire Department, Hanover Center Fire Department, and Chautauqua County EMS, responded to reports of a severe personal injury accident. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered a single vehicle had veered off the road and collided with a tree.

The driver, identified as 54-year-old Rachel Lynn Lucas of Jamestown, NY, sustained critical injuries in the crash. Lucas was promptly transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) via Mercy Flight. Despite the rapid response and medical efforts, Lucas succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, as officials seek to determine the factors that led to the vehicle leaving the roadway. No additional passengers or vehicles were involved in the incident.
