(WNY News Now) – Allegany – Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb reports a recent incident of petit larceny at Walmart in Allegany, NY, resulting in the arrest of Zachary A. Willetts, 25, who allegedly stole merchandise.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of theft at Walmart located at 1869 Plaza Dr, Allegany, NY, on June 24, 2024, at 1:27 PM. Zachary A. Willetts, a resident of Allegany, was apprehended following an investigation into the incident. It was determined that Willetts had taken merchandise from the store without paying.

Willets, 25, was charged with Petit Larceny (PL 155.25). He was subsequently released on an appearance ticket pending arraignment at a later date. The case will be handled in the Town of Allegany Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, Willets is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
