(WNY News Now) – Mayville – David L. McLaughlin 3rd faces serious charges after being arrested for Felony Aggravated DWI in Mayville, NY.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 12:53 PM, deputies at the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office arrested David L. McLaughlin 3rd, a 30-year-old resident of Mayville, NY, for Felony DWI. McLaughlin was initially at the sheriff’s office for an unrelated matter when deputies discovered his prior DWI conviction within the last decade.

The investigation revealed McLaughlin’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .18% or higher, leading to additional charges of Aggravated DWI. Due to the severity of his previous offense, this new arrest classifies as a felony under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law (NYS VTL) 1192.3 and 1192.2aa.

McLaughlin was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets (UTTs) and released, pending a future court appearance in the Town of Chautauqua. He is required to answer the charges in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, McLaughlin is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  1. How wonderful these laws they have now give them a little slap on the wrist and let them go to hopefully appear at a later date. This is total bullshit!
