(WNY News Now) – Olean – In a recent incident at Paul Brown Chevrolet, a Hinsdale man was arrested for breaking into vehicles and stealing items.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of Shawn M. Baker, 44, of Hinsdale, NY, following a larceny investigation. The incident occurred in the early hours of July 4, 2024, at 2808 RT 16 N, Olean, NY.
According to Sheriff Timothy S. Whitcomb, Baker was found to have broken into several vehicles at Paul Brown Chevrolet, stealing multiple items. The stolen property was later recovered, leading to Baker’s arrest.
Baker has been charged with petit larceny (PL 155.25), criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree (PL 165.40), and trespass (PL 140.05). He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
