(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – The Syracuse Police Department is outling a timeline for their investigation into the homicide of Willy Stridiron on June 15th, 2024.

June 15, 2024: At approximately 2:38 a.m., Syracuse Police responded to a stabbing incident at 233 Lincoln Ave. Officers found Willy Stridiron (DOB 9/30/1995) with severe injuries from a bladed weapon. Despite efforts from police and AMR paramedics, Stridiron succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

June 15, 2024 – Present: The CID Homicide Unit launched an in-depth investigation, conducting numerous interviews and extensive canvassing across the neighborhood and city. Evidence was meticulously collected and analyzed, leading to the identification of a suspect.

July 10, 2024: Homicide detectives apprehended Donquan K. Jones (DOB 3/14/1994) at 1801 South Ave. Jones was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Criminal Investigation Division. He is currently held at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.

Donquan K. Jones faces charges under Penal Law 125.25, Murder 2nd Degree. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
