(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – Syracuse Police are appealing for community assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident on Erie Boulevard West.

In the early hours of Saturday, June 8th, a hit-and-run incident occurred at approximately 2:34 a.m. in the 300 block of Erie Boulevard West, leaving significant damage in its wake. The incident involved a white, newer model Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, which struck the finish line staging for Paige’s Butterfly Run before continuing west and possibly entering the I-690 ramp.

The Syracuse Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify the suspect vehicle, described as a 2019 or newer Dodge Ram 1500 with a black tonneau cover over the bed, chrome rims, and trim. The vehicle likely has noticeable damage to the front windshield and potentially the roof.

A photo of the suspect vehicle has been circulated by the police. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Syracuse Police Traffic Division at (315) 442-5130.
