(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, N.Y. – Deshema Clark, 46, of Buffalo, NY, was sentenced to 30 days in prison and two years’ supervised release for making a materially false statement to the FBI during a murder investigation. Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford handed down the sentence, as announced by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Maeve E. Huggins and Joseph M. Tripi revealed that the false statements were made during a federal criminal investigation. On October 9, 2019, the FBI executed a search warrant at Clark’s residence. Clark then voluntarily went to Buffalo Police Department Headquarters, where she knowingly provided false information regarding the whereabouts of DeAndre Wilson on the night of September 15, 2019, into the early hours of September 16, 2019.
Clark claimed that after attending a concert, she and Wilson returned to her home, had dinner, and went to bed, stating she later woke up to find Wilson still asleep. She denied remembering Wilson leaving her residence during that time. However, Clark was aware that Wilson did not stay at her home, eat dinner, and go to bed as she described.
DeAndre Wilson was convicted by a federal jury and sentenced to three consecutive life sentences plus 30 years for the murders of Miguel Anthony Valentin-Colon, Nicole Marie Merced-Plaud, and Dhamyl Roman-Audiffred, committed on the night of September 15-16, 2019.
The investigation leading to Clark’s sentencing involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Buffalo Police Department, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, and the Erie County Central Police Services Forensic Laboratory.
