(WNY News Now) – The Chautauqua County Legislature will convene at 6:30 p.m. on July 24, 2024, with a comprehensive agenda addressing local governance, funding, and public safety.
The meeting will commence with the Call to Order, followed by a Roll Call, prayer led by Legislator Bankoski, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Approval of the minutes from the June 26, 2024, session is also on the agenda.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to voice their concerns or comments on any local law, resolution, or motion within the agenda during the Privilege of the Floor. Individual comments are capped at 3 minutes, with group comments limited to 5 minutes.
Notable communications include:
- Letters confirming the appointments of Ana M. Morgan Esq. and Jonathon DeAngelo as Acting County Executives.
- Correspondence from the Ashville Fire Department.
- Affidavits of Publication related to legal notices for Local Law Intro 14-24 and CDBG Septic and Wells public hearings.
- Minutes from the Conewango Watershed Commission’s July 10, 2024, meeting.

- Chautauqua Lake Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration by Marion Divers.

- Potential 2024 CDBG funding applications through the New York State Homes and Community Renewal Housing Trust Fund Corporation.
- Implementation details of the 2021 CDBG funding program for septic and wells.
Key resolutions to be discussed include:
- Appointments of Acting County Executive and Chautauqua County Fire Advisory Board members.
- Acceptance of various federal and state grants, including CARTS funding and the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) grant.
- Authorization of new agreements and amendments related to public health, emergency services, and local infrastructure.
The legislature will also consider budget amendments for projects funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and adjustments to support various departments and initiatives.
