(WNY News Now) – Lakewood, NY – Join the Conversation: Learn About Efforts to Preserve Chautauqua Lake.

The CLA will host an open house on Saturday, July 27, from 9am to Noon at the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club on 43 E Lake Street in Lakewood, NY. All are invited to join in on casual conversation with the many lake organizations that help preserve, protect and maintain Chautauqua Lake. Coffee and danish will be served.

Special guests include Aquatic Biologist Melanie Rooney; the Chautauqua County Soil & Water Conservation District; and the Chautauqua-Conewango Consortium.

There will also be useful information on boater safety, local fishing groups, HABs and highlights about the rich history of Chautauqua Lake. 

Meet the CLA Watercraft Stewards and hear about the work they do to protect Chautauqua Lake from Aquatic Invasive Species. Harvester demos will give an up-close look at the in-lake services the CLA provides. 

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
