(WNY News Now) – Dive into outdoor fun and discovery with Audubon Community Nature Center’s Green Play Day Mondays, designed to engage young children and their families in nature-inspired play.

Audubon Community Nature Center is transforming Mondays into a nature-lover’s playground with its Green Play Day program, offering an exciting, unstructured play experience for young children. From now through August 12, families with children ages 2-6 are invited to explore the Green Play Area every Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Education Coordinator Sarah Hatfield highlights the program’s value: “With our Green Play Area and second-floor exhibits being used by day campers throughout the week, Mondays provide a unique opportunity for other children to enjoy these spaces.” The Green Play Area, featuring a mud kitchen, water wall, and various interactive elements, is designed to foster physical and mental growth through engaging outdoor play.

Parents and caregivers can drop in at their convenience during program hours. Though no reservations are required, visitors are advised to dress for the weather and prepare for a bit of mess. The program is open to children and their accompanying adults, with educators or volunteers available to assist. Remember to bring along snacks, water, and possibly a change of clothes for a comfortable visit.

Admission is included with the building fee: Members and SNAP/EBT cardholders receive free entry, while non-member adults (ages 16+) are charged $6, non-member children (ages 3-15) are $2, and children under 2 enter for free. The maximum family cost is $15. Notably, building admission is free on Sundays.
