(WNY News Now) – Women on Fire For Christ is set to host their 3rd annual Christian women’s retreat on August 17th, 2024.
WNY News Now sat down with Evelyn Emmick, Bobbi BanGuilder, Brenda Hendricks, Alice Hill, and Thelma Samuelson of Women on Fire For Christ to discuss their upcoming Christian women’s retreat, taking place on August 17th at Park Church in Sinclairville, located at 49 Sinclair Drive.
The group initially came together in 2022 to go to Women of Faith events in Rochester, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. However, when those events stopped reaching the area, the group decided to create their own event to fill the hole that had been left in its absence. Their first retreat saw 60 participants, which increased to 99 the following year. It is their hope to reach 100 participants this year.
The event will include a meal, singing, and a guest speech from Eileen Banks, a comedien, writer, singer, and actress. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the event will conclude at 3 p.m. The price to attend is $40, and there will be shirts and cups available for purchase.
