(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – A federal grand jury has indicted Robert L. Robinson on multiple serious charges, including drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. The indictment, announced today by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross, accuses Robinson of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking, and being a felon in possession of firearms. If convicted, Robinson faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani, the charges stem from a search warrant executed at Robinson’s Buffalo residence on June 7, 2024. During the search, law enforcement officials uncovered suspected cocaine, marijuana, $35,869 in cash, two firearms, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. Notably, one firearm was reported stolen from a Miami-Dade police officer in 2019. Following the search, Robinson was taken into custody.
Robinson, who has previous felony convictions from 2003 and 2011, is legally barred from possessing firearms. The indictment follows a comprehensive investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation Task Force and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
As the case proceeds, Robinson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
