(WNY News Now) – ASHFORD, NY – A routine traffic stop in the early hours of August 9, 2024, led to the arrest of a Hamburg man on an active bench warrant issued by the Hamburg Police Department.
At approximately 4:39 a.m., deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Rte-240 in the Town of Ashford. During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver, 52-year-old Lawrence J. Strozewski Jr. of Hamburg, NY, had an outstanding bench warrant.
Strozewski was promptly taken into custody and transported to Springville, where he was handed over to officers from the Hamburg Police Department. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
