(WNY News Now) – Lakewood, NY – Step onto the court for a unique blend of networking and pickleball at Jamestown Young Professionals’ “Pop-Up Pickleball” event on August 22nd in Lakewood.

The Jamestown Young Professionals (JYP) are inviting the community to a one-of-a-kind networking opportunity with their “Pop-Up Pickleball” event, scheduled for Thursday, August 22, from 5-7 pm at Michael LaGrega Memorial Field in Lakewood. This event is free, open to the public, and designed to welcome players of all skill levels, making it the perfect setting for both seasoned professionals and newcomers.

Participants are encouraged to bring friends, family members, or significant others for an evening of casual networking and friendly competition. Six pickleball courts will be available, with JYP members on hand to provide instructions and demonstrations for those new to the game.

“More than just a chance to enjoy some friendly competition, our pop-up pickleball event will be a great opportunity to connect with peers who share a commitment to personal and professional growth,” said Katie Castro, Director of Advancement for the United Ways of Chautauqua County. “The Jamestown Young Professionals group believes that strong networks and meaningful relationships are the foundation of a thriving career and community. This event is the perfect way to build those connections while having a great time. Whether you’re new to the area or looking to expand your professional circle, this is an event you won’t want to miss!”

No registration is required, and JYP will ensure everyone gets a chance to play by organizing shorter games in the event of a large turnout. A “JYP Rehydration Station” will also be available for attendees to socialize and learn more about the sport. While JYP will provide a limited supply of paddles and balls, participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if possible.
