(WNY News Now) – Olean – Traffic delays expected as Olean continues its commitment to a more pedestrian-friendly cityscape with the ongoing Walkable Olean Phase III project.
The City of Olean’s ambitious Walkable Olean initiative enters its third phase of construction, focusing on the stretch of East State Street between Front Street and North Union Street. The current work zone extends from Union Street to Clinton Street, with North and South Barry Street closed at East State Street.
This phase of the project will bring significant improvements to pedestrian infrastructure, but it comes with its share of temporary inconveniences. Traffic in the area will be reduced to one lane at times, potentially causing delays for motorists. Both drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction zone.
The City of Olean appreciates the community’s patience during this time and remains committed to enhancing the walkability of its streets, making them safer and more accessible for all.
