(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – YWCA Jamestown celebrated its most significant Women of Achievement event on August 9th, recognizing the outstanding contributions of women who have made remarkable strides in business, education, healthcare, and social advocacy. This year’s event, presented by the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources, marked the largest gathering in its history, honoring five extraordinary women for their leadership and impact.

The 2024 Women of Achievement recipients are:

  • Korinda Messenger – Catalyst for Change Award
  • Momina Di Blasio – Power the Future Award
  • Kristan McMahon – Shattered Ceiling Award
  • Bonnie Weber – Impact Award
  • Chloe Yu – Rising Star Award

The evening featured emotional tributes, including a heartfelt speech from 2023 Power the Future awardee Sukanya Burman, who passed the torch to her friend, Momina Di Blasio. Attendees also witnessed touching moments such as colleagues from Lane Women’s Health Group celebrating Korinda Messenger’s accomplishments and a surprise presentation to Chloe Yu by her brother.

Though unable to attend, Kristan McMahon’s pre-recorded message resonated with the audience, connecting past achievements with hopes for the future. YWCA Jamestown Executive Director Amanda Gesing praised the event, stating, “This celebration is a powerful reminder of the collective impact women have on our community. Each year, I am impressed by the growing number of nominees and recipients advocating for equity and inclusion.”

The event was supported by numerous sponsors, including Lane Women’s Health, Northwest Bank, and UPMC Chautauqua. YWCA Jamestown anticipates an even larger celebration next year.
