(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A Jamestown man faces up to 20 years in prison following a federal indictment on serious drug possession charges.
A federal grand jury has indicted Willie C. Graham, 43, of Jamestown, NY, on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The charge, announced by U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross, carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
The indictment stems from two separate incidents involving Graham. In September 2023, Jamestown Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle linked to a known drug house. A search of the vehicle revealed suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. During the arrest, officers also found a glass bubble pipe on Graham’s person, and later, while in custody, he was found with suspected fentanyl.
Another incident occurred on March 2, 2024, when Graham was a passenger in a vehicle that fled from officers during a traffic stop. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 11.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine, additional paraphernalia, and over $1,100 in cash. After his arrest, Graham informed officers that he had ingested drugs and was overdosing, requiring NARCAN administration and medical attention.
Graham has been detained following his arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy.
The investigation was conducted by the Jamestown Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It’s important to note that an indictment is merely an accusation, and Graham is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
