(WNY News Now) – Dunkirk, NY – A multi-month investigation into drug activity culminated in a significant narcotics seizure on August 16, 2024, when law enforcement executed a search warrant at 56 W. Doughty St. in Dunkirk. The operation, led by the Dunkirk Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, resulted in the arrest of Kevin Dejesus-Rivera, 32, and Christian Ayala-Gonzalez, 37.
Authorities, including the Dunkirk Police Special Response Team (SRT), entered the residence and discovered a substantial amount of illegal drugs. The seizure included 13.85 grams of crack cocaine, 2.2 grams of cocaine, 7.02 grams of fentanyl, as well as scales, packaging materials, and $971 in cash. Both suspects face three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree. Additionally, Ayala-Gonzalez was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The suspects were transported to the Dunkirk Police Department for processing and will be arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court.
