(WNY News Now) – Ellicott – On August 12, 2024, at approximately 1:30 PM, Clarence J. Williams 3rd, 44, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny following an alleged shoplifting incident in the Town of Ellicott. According to the Town of Ellicott police, Williams reportedly left a local store pushing a shopping cart filled with merchandise without paying for the items.

Authorities responded to a complaint from the business, which led to Williams being issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott court at a future date to address the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
