(WNY News Now) – Machias – A 33-year-old Machias woman was apprehended on August 13, 2024, after being sought by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for outstanding charges, leading to a coordinated custody exchange between counties.
On August 13, 2024, Briana L. Klink, 33, of Machias, NY, was arrested by local deputies on a warrant issued by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest followed a multi-county operation that began when the Erie County Sheriff’s Office alerted Cattaraugus County deputies about Klink’s outstanding charges related to a prior incident in Erie County.
At approximately 9:00 AM, deputies from Cattaraugus County located Klink at her residence in Machias. She was taken into custody and subsequently transported to a designated meeting point where Erie County deputies took over custody of Klink. The custody exchange was completed without incident.
Klink has been released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court. No bail was set in this case. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
